3 Wonderful Days!

We stayed at Old Hickory Cabin for 3 nights over Christmas this year with our 2 labs. It was our first time to Cook Forest. It was a WONDERFUL vacation! Next time we’d like to stay longer. We loved the cabin and appreciated how clean it was. It was absolutely perfect for us. It had all the comforts of home without the distractions of responsibilities of home. Loved the cozy eat-in kitchen and we definitely enjoyed sitting in front of a blazing fire every night (where the dogs parked themselves) watching movies. The location to the hiking trails was perfect. Larry and Lois are wonderful. She even gave us a plate of Christmas cookies! Larry was so kind to snowblow the driveway after we enjoyed getting 9″ of snow while we were there. We will definitely come back to stay at Old Hickory Cabin. Thank you so much, Larry & Lois!

Sunburst Locust Cabin

We stayed at the Sunburst Locust cabin and Annex recently and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The cabin was super clean, the kitchen was well-appointed and Larry and Lois were lovely. We rented cross country skis for $7 a day at the store down the roadfrom the Visitor’s Center. In addition to towels for showering, I’d recommend that you bring extra kitchen towels or paper towels. Also, because the cabins are situated adjacent to Cook Forest on a “residential street of cabins,” be prepared to drive into the actual park to hike, ski and skate. Parking was easy to find. Thanks for a great stay. We will be back again for sure.

Warm and Cozy

We recently stayed for 3 nights in one of the Top Hill Cabins and even though the weather was not cooperative, we were comfy, warm and dry! It was so relaxing with a fire in the fireplace (logs supplied), quiet with just the sound of the wind blowing through the trees and even some snowflakes. Cabin was clean, stocked with all your basic needs and once I stocked the fridge we were ready to chill!! Thank you Lois and Larry for making our much needed extended weekend a special memory. Buckeye Cabin

The four of us stayed at Buckeye cabin. It was more than we expected! Everyone loved it! Definitely coming back again.

Top Hill Cabins are Fantastic!

Our vacations at Cook Forest and staying at Top Hill Cabins are the most relaxing, comforting experiences every visit. Lois and Larry are so accommodating. IF WE NEED ANYTHING, ALL WE DO IS ASK AND WE GET IT! Everything about Top Hill Cabins is fantastic!!

Pure Fun!

Pure Fun!! That is how we feel about our visit to Cooks Forest and our stay at the Douglas Fir cabin. Lois and Larry have done a great job with their cabins and it feels like coming home for a visit with relatives. We love the woods and solitude of Top Hill Cabins. Some of the other cabin rental places feel too congested and busy and loud. This is our own private paradise. The location makes it easy to get anywhere in only a few minutes. Super clean, well stocked. As we left a few days ago, we already booked our return visit for next year.

Perfect Get-a-away!

Awesome place! Very clean with a well stocked kitchen, in absolutely peaceful surroundings! Perfect get~away when you need to step off the grid for a while.

Douglas Fir and Old Hickory

We have stayed twice in the Douglas Fir and the 3rd time in the Old Hickory. We are well taken care of and love the cleanliness and room in the cabins. It is a great place to go and forget about the cares of the world. We have already booked our stay in the Buck Eye Cabin for next year. Lois and Larry are terrific people and always make sure we are happy with our stay. We love the well stocked kitchen, it makes packing so much lighter.

Hidden Oaks

My family and I stayed in the Hidden Oaks cabin. We had previously stayed in another cabin, but this was our first year renting with Top Hill Cabins. The cabin was wonderful and it was very, very clean. The location was secluded and had great furniture on the back porch to sit on and overlook the woods. There was a large yard for our kids to play in and a nice area set up for campfires, complete with a swing! The property as a whole was well-kept. We participated in many activities while we were at Cook Forest such as the go-karts, canoeing, horse-back riding, etc. and the cabins are close to all the attractions. We will definitely rent from Top Hill Cabins again!

Sunset Maple

My faimly and I rented a Sunset Maple and Hidden Oaks, we had a wonderful time! Our cabins where very clean and well taken care of. Sunset Maple is very spacious and quiet. Hidden Oaks is in a great location, very kid friendly. This was my first experience renting cabins at cook forest and I will do so again. Thanks for the much needed weekend get away! I will rent from Top Hill Cabins again, the area they are in is very peaceful.

Memorial Day Fun

After staying at Top Hill Cabins for the 8th or 9th Memorial Day it’s nice to be able to write about our recent trip. Lois and Larry are always very accommodating, polite, and helpful.

This year when we arrived Larry was kind enough to show us the new cabin, Sunset Maple. It’s in excellent condition, with new siding, a gigantic yard, a large kitchen, new appliances, a foyer, and a flat screen TV. He also took us back to see Hidden Oaks, which he has updated with a very nice new bedroom and bathroom.

We stayed at the Sunburst Locust (I think this was our 4th time there) and we opted for the annex, which is nice to have for the extra bathroom and beds. As always, the cabin was in great shape – it still looks brand new and is always very clean. There were 6 of us and we never felt cramped in the large floor space. We like to hang out on the porch and in the yard, which is large enough for playing a variety of games.

All of the cabins are highly recommended and we thank you again for an excellent Memorial Day weekend.

Six years and coming back for a 7th!

We have been to the Top Hill Cabins for six years and can’t wait for our seventh visit. It is the perfect vacation for those who love the pristine setting of the forest but also enjoy the amenites of a cozy cabin. We love relaxing on the porch while enjoying the scenery. Larry and Lois always make us feel welcome and comfortable during our visits. We highly recommend this retreat in the forest.

We have camped in a tent in Cook Forest before, but this was the first time staying in a cabin. I was not sure what to expect, but when we opened the door it was delightful. The cabin was cozy and clean. My husband and I will DEFINITELY rent one of your cabins again, perhaps chose another one for our next visit. October 2011 Stay

Our family enjoyed the weekend at Sunburst Cabin with Annex beside. The cabin and Annex were beautiful, clean and comfortable. We had lots of room to play cornhole and bacchi ball (not sure how to spell it), went walking, riding bikes, played hand and foot and other games in evening. But the food was delicious everyone brought to share. The weather was gorgeous on Saturday. Thanks to Lois and Larry for another great weekend in the Forest with our relatives.

I would very highly recommend staying here.I have been twice in two different cabins & already have made my next reservations to go back.The cabins are amazing.They are very clean,beautiful,comfy & spacious.I cant even begin to describe how wonderful they are.They are also very close to a lot of the attractions cook forest has to offer.Amazing cabins so make your reservations today because I promise you you will not regret it!
