Sunburst Locust Cabin & separate Annex Cabin feature two cabins sleeping a total of 15 persons in both cabins. The main cabin has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, sleeps 8. The Annex Cabin has 1 large bedroom, 1 bath and sleeps 7.
Sunburst Locust Cabin has a great room area with a combined kitchen/dining/living room. This roomy cabin is a great place for a family retreat. This cozy cabin has been finished with beautiful knotty pine walls. Included is a large stone wood-burning fireplace and auxiliary gas furnace for your year-round enjoyment. The large built in kitchen includes microwave, electric stove, refrigerator, toaster, regular drip coffee maker and a one cup Keurig coffee pot, dishes, cooking utensils and silverware.
The living room in the cabin has satellite TV, DVD, 1 couch, 2 chairs and wood burning fireplace. Sleeping arrangements have two bedrooms on the first floor, each with 1 queen bed, and one bedroom in the loft. The loft has 1 queen bed and 2 single beds. Your bed linens are furnished for the bedrooms. There is a bathroom with a shower on the first floor. You will need to furnish your own towels for your showers and your own paper products.
Sunburst Locust Cabin is on 1+ acre of land and includes an outdoor picnic area with fire pit, lawn furniture, picnic tables and charcoal grill. The large wrap-around deck is partially under roof and partially exposed to the sun. This wonderful deck around the cabin gives you an outdoor place to relax while watching the plentiful wild life in Cook Forest State Park. Guests have seen black bear many times from this deck!!
There is an additional smaller cabin that comes with the main cabin with some restrictions. The main cabin sleeps up to 8 in the 3 bedrooms. The Annex, the second cabin, sleeps up to 7. The Annex consists of a large room and a bathroom. The large room has 4 beds, sleeping up to 7 persons and is for overflow guests of the main cabin. The Annex contains kitchen cabinets with an apartment-sized refrigerator, a microwave and coffee pot. In addition, there is a kitchen table with chairs, The outside porch of this Annex has a picnic table and chairs, When reserving for your group, this additional space is at the rate of $150 per stay plus tax. For whatever number of persons you have in your reservation,, the Annex remains at the same rate of $150 plus tax for your stay.
Sunburst Locust Cabin and Sunburst Locust Annex Cabin accommodate a total of 15 persons. The base rate is for 4 persons. There is an additional $15 per person plus tax for persons over 4 at this location. If you want to use the Annex Cabin but have less than 8 persons total for your reservation, the Annex is at the rate of $150 plus tax for your stay. Pre-approved pets are $15 per night per pet with a maximum of 2 pets per cabin. Sunburst Locust itself accommodates a total of 8 persons in 3 bedrooms.

Fri & Sat Rate $240/night. Sun-Thurs Rate $215/night. Weekly (7 night rate) $1,200.

Cancellation Policy
If you find it necessary to cancel your reservation by noon thirty (30) days prior to your arrival date, your deposit will be refunded less a re-booking fee of $75.00. Or, you may choose to apply your deposit, less the re-booking fee to a future visit within 6 months. You will forfeit your deposit if you cancel within the thirty (30) day period prior to your reservation date. Persons who arrive late or depart early receive neither a credit nor a refund.
During your stay in the cabin(s), the Owner strives to maintain the property so that you, the Guest, experience a clean and safe stay. While there may be circumstances beyond the Owner's control, the Owner will make reasonable efforts to deal with any malfunctions. The Owner cannot refund any monies due to such malfunctions but will respond as quickly as possible to make repairs or restore services. Power failures due to storms, etc. are considered beyond the Owner's control and will not constitute a refund of money. The Owner shall have the right of access to the Premises for repair and maintenance during reasonable hours.
Deposit Policy
Your deposit to hold your advance reservation is 50% of your rental fee and is to be received within 7 days of making your reservation. Deposits can be paid with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, your debit card, check or money order.

We have been going to the Cook Forest area for 20+ years, but this is the first time we have stayed at the Top Hill Cabins. We stayed over Labor Day weekend & although the weather wasn't perfect (really hot & then rained some) we didn't mind as the cabin & surrounding area was so nice. We stayed in the Sunburst Locust cabin. This cabin is beautiful both inside & out. You can tell the owners take great pride in their cabins as everything is keep neat, in good condition & well maintained. The cabins sit back off the main road in a wooded setting. They have everything you could need in the cabins (pots & pans, dishes etc.) We loved it so much that we booked it again for next year & plan to keep going here in the future. Well worth the money - Thank you for a wonderful time!!
We stayed in the Sunburst Locust Cabin at Top Hill Cabin and very much enjoyed our stay. The kitchen had everything needed and the entire cabin was super clean...not a dust bunny or crumb could be found anywhere! The owners are friendly and welcoming. We found our Cook Forest getaway home away from home and will certainly be back!
